This is such an embarrassing topic, but vaginal yeast infections are something that tons of women get. And they are always looking for how to get rid of vaginal yeast infection. I got yeast infections starting when I was fifteen years old. So I feel like I am an expert on them. If you are not an expert like me on yeast infections, go here to see symptoms of them. I was so tired of all the creams or going to the doctor to get prescriptions. And eventually they just quit working.
I was so happy to find a natural way how to get rid of vaginal yeast infection. So I want to share what I have found that works. It has completely changed how I have got rid of this pesky little problem. Essential oils for yeast infection are super helpful. If you want to get the essential oils I talk about here. Go to my website!
1. Lemon, Melaleuca and Oregano Essential Oils For Yeast Infection
These are the oils you need to use for when you have a yeast infection. And want get rid of the symptoms. This is how to get rid of vaginal yeast infection once you have it. What I do is put the diluted melaleuca and diluted oregano on the bottoms of my feet. Then I put the lemon in my water (also read here about other uses for lemon essential oil) and drink that because it is cleansing.
If you are using pure, quality oils you can put all three of these oils in a veggie cap, and get the oils that way. A couple drops of each of the three oils. Whichever way you do it, you need to do this twice a day. You are supposed to do it for 10-14 days. But I just do it until the symptoms are done (because I’m a rebel!). Here are the veggie caps I like to use.
Since I started using this regiment to get rid of vaginal yeast infection. I have not used the messy creams and I have not gone to the doctor for the pill. You guys, I am a pharmacist, so I know all about the medicine needed to get rid of these pesky infections. And the medications do work, but I was so over doing them, and just having them come back the next month.
2. Lavender and Essential Oil Ointment
So you have the oils working internally to get rid of vaginal yeast infection, but what about the external problems. You know what I am talking about, the itching and the hurting. This is why the medication creams usually always come with an external tube of cream (great more cream!). But if you want to stop those symptoms naturally you can apply lavender essential oil directly on the skin. You will get the soothing effect that we have come to expect from lavender almost instantaneously. If you want, you can dilute the lavender, but it isn’t necessary because a good quality lavender oil is usually okay to apply directly to an adult’s skin.
I have an ointment that has lavender, melaleuca and frankincense in it. The lavender is for soothing, the melaleuca is for clearing up the yeast infection, and the frankincense is for healing. I apply that multiple times a day and it helps the itching and the pain right away. This way, you will not have to be in pain while the essential oils are working on your body to get rid of the vaginal yeast infection.
3. Arborvitae
So, really what has changed in my life when it comes to getting rid of vaginal yeast infections, is preventing them. Arborvitae is another one of the great essential oils for yeast infection, and it is cleansing. And I put it diluted onto the bottoms of my feet every single day. This is not an oil you take orally so stick to bottoms of feet with it.
I wouldn’t say it has prevented every single yeast infection, but I was getting them about once a month. Now I get them maybe once a year. That is a huge change. After suffering since I was a teenager with these things.
4. Probiotic
Another way to prevent these is to take a probiotic. Because basically a yeast infection is when the bacteria and yeast are out of balance in your body, and the yeast level is too high. So taking a probiotic will increase the good bacteria in your body, and push out the excess yeast. The good bacteria and the yeast balance and this will get rid of vaginal yeast infection for good.
The probiotic I take is encapsulated, which means it is a capsule within a capsule. So I take it, then the stomach acid eats away the outside capsule, but then the good bacteria in the second capsule gets to the digestive tract. Which is where you need it, not in your stomach just getting eaten by your stomach acid.
This has worked amazingly at keeping the yeast infections away. Also, it is just a good thing to take, just to keep your digestive tract and your body healthy and in balance.
If you want to get a good quality probiotic or any of the oils in this post go check out my oil website!

I dont like yogurt, so I didn’t know what I could do for a yeast infection. One time I got desperate because of the itching and grabbed our mouthwash and gave my vagina a good wiping with it, it burns a little but it stops the itching and I dont get a full fledged infection, I am putting together a notebook of home remedies, and I plan go get a natural certificate. I wonder as a pharmacist do you have any concerns with mouthwash used to cleanse the vagina?

I wouldn’t put mouthwash on the vagina. Instead, use some of the suggestions I have in this post 🙂

I have recurring yeast infections (monthly) and I’m wondering if you could provide links or brands you would recommend. I really want to try the methods you suggested but I worry about getting the wrong thing! Thank you.

Here are the oils in the ointment Frankincense, Helichrysum, Tea Tree, Cedarwood, and Lavender, but it would be easier for you to get from the essential oil company I use. You can go here https://www.vanessanaturalworkingmoms.com/ and let me know what questions you have!
