If you do not know what COPD is, it is a lung condition that causes constriction of the airways and difficulty or discomfort in breathing. COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is a chronic condition, which means that it will never go away. But there are natural remedies for COPD that can help the condition.

The symptoms of COPD are chronic coughing, shortness of breath while doing normal activities, and producing lots of mucus or phlegm in your lungs. This all does not sound very fun. (If you wanted to read more about it, go to the mayo clinic website). But essential oils can help, so keep reading.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus is your go to oil as one of the best natural remedies for COPD. There are several ways you can use it so it will help. You can diffuse 3-5 drops of it in your diffuser. Just make sure you are pretty close to it so you get the oil to open your lungs a bit.

You can also put a few drops in your hands and cup over your mouth and nose and breathe in deeply. Or you could put a little bit between your nose and upper lip so you can breathe it. And of course you can put a few drops directly on your chest, over your lungs.
If you wanted to not get your hands all oiled up. You could make a roller ball bottle with eucalyptus and coconut oil to roll over your lungs and roll under your nose. Here are some roller ball bottles and coconut oil that I recommend.
You need to do at least one or two of these things daily. But you can do them all as needed. Up to multiple times a day. Unlike medication, you can not overuse essential oils.
Respiratory Blend
Respiratory blend essential oil can also be used just like eucalyptus. So all the ways I listed to use eucalyptus. You can also do the same with respiratory blend. My oil company has a very good respiratory blend (go here if you were interested in getting it). But if you want to get it from somewhere else. Just make sure that it is a good quality one.

Lemon Essential Oil
Lemon oil is also one of the great natural remedies for COPD. Throughout the day, drink water with 1-2 drops of lemon oil in it. This will help break up the mucus or phlegm in your lungs and throat. Also, you can apply lemon to the outside your throat as needed. This will help with the chronic cough.
Giving Up Dairy
Unfortunately, when you have COPD, you have an excess of mucus and phlegm. And eating dairy makes this worse. So it is really beneficial if you give up dairy. This will mean less mucus or phlegm will be produced, and also the mucus will become thinner, which will make it easier for the lemon oil to help also.

A Good Quality Multi-Vitamin
This might sound weird that you should take a multi-vitamin to help COPD. But when your body has the nutrients that it needs, then it is able to fight the COPD symptoms better. If you want to know how to pick a good quality multi-vitamin, go to my blog post here where I write all about it.
I have started an etsy shop of roller ball bottle of essential oil blends, if you were interested in having the blends made for you and sent directly to you instead of having to make them yourself. Go to my etsy shop here!
