If you are a mom you know that you are usually the one in charge of getting everyone ready to travel. I know that I am the primary person that gets the whole family packed. And ready when we are travelling anywhere. In the last few years the first thing that I pack for everyone is the essential oils. I can not travel (and neither can the people in my family) without the essential oils. There are certain ones that definitely need to come with us. So continue reading to see what all the top travel essential oils that you need to make sure are in your suitcase.
And if you want to keep all the oils in one travel case, here is a great place to look. It is shows one I use when I travel with my essential oils.
Essential Ointment is a Must!
This is an actual ointment that has lots of healing essential oils in it. It has Frankincense, Helichrysum, Melaleuca, Cedarwood, and Lavender (so basically all the healing oils and oils you would use to stop blood) all in one little tube of ointment.
I have a tube of this in every room in the house, plus my purse and my bag I take for work. But when you are travelling it is also an absolute must. It is for any kind of minor owie that your kiddo could get. And also for you and your significant other just in case. My husband has hit his hand loading the back of our van many times that we use this ointment for.
You know when you go on vacation that kiddos are over tired and in unfamiliar places. Which means they are going to fall more. Or hit their body parts on things they did not know was there. And this is why the essential ointment is the first thing I pack.
Essential Oils for Sleep
Everybody knows that most people have problems getting to sleep in different places such as a hotel room. Which is why oils to rescue for sleep issues! I always take my restful blend with me for sure! Either I take the oil so I can put on the bottoms of my feet or I bring the softgels with me. Sometimes I bring both! They work well together when you need to sleep in a strange place.
My son has his own blend that he always takes with him. He is in charge of making sure it gets in the suitcase! It has frankincense, roman chamomile, vetiver, and bergamot in it. We just stick it in a rollerball bottle and add some coconut oil in with it to dilute (this is the coconut oil we use, it just needs to be organic). Then he can put it on his feet or the back of his neck as many times as he wants while travelling and trying to sleep.
Lavender Essential Oil
I always take along the lavender essential oil because we always need it when we travel. I especially like to take the rollerball bottle because then you can just roll it on wherever you need it. It seems like my kids always get some sort of bug bite. Or some sort of weird rash when we travel. This is why the lavender is always with us.
Plus, you can use it if you have trouble sleeping. Lavender is very relaxing so it is another option to help you sleep in a strange place. Just put on the bottom of your feet or the back of your neck. And start the relaxing at night.
Protective Blend Essential Oil
Legit, if I left this essential oil at home, I would turn around to go get it. It seems like we always start to get sick on vacation. Probably because we are out of our regular environment and are exposed to new germs. This is why protective blend is so important. So that when one of your kiddos starts getting a tickle in his throat or someone is throwing up. The protective blend makes the sickness shorter. And it also helps the rest of the family NOT get the sickness. I apply to the bottom of everyone’s feet everyday that we are travelling, just to keep all the germs away from us.
Another reason to bring protective blend. Is because you are going to lots of tourist places where your kids touch things that thousands of kids have touched before them. This really grosses me out! But I use a spray bottle of protective blend, and spray on my kids’ hands. After we have been to a museum or anything where there is a lot of hands on activities for the kids.
I do not know why, but touching animals in water, such as stingrays or turtles, I find very disgusting. I used to not let my kids touch these animals. But now that I have the protective blend spray, I am okay with it. As long as I spray my boys down right afterwards.
A Must have travel essential oil is Grounding Blend
I love my grounding blend for everyday use. It really calms my anxiety. And makes is easier for me to deal with the normal situations of life. But, when I travel, my grounding blend because even more important to me. As you can probably guess, traveling brings out my anxiety in full force. Going to tourist places and having so many people around. Plus, being in a different environment and not having all the comforts of home. Really kicks my anxiety into overdrive.
This is why my grounding blend always has to be with me. I put it in a roller ball so I can roll it on the back of my neck when I am feeling especially stressed. It takes about 30 seconds to calm me. I also will roll on the bottom of my feet in the morning just so I have some grounding working for me as we go to different sites.
There are so many essential oils I use quite a bit, but these are the must haves for when you are traveling.
